Blockchain Bites: Dorsey Challenges Coinbase, Nasdaq Lists Diginex, Ethereum Miners Profit
The Australian government is investing big in modern technology, Nasdaq saw its first crypto exchange operator listing and revenues are surging for Ethereum miners amid increased network activity.
Australia modernizes Australia will commit A$800 million (US$575 million) to invest in digital technologies as part of its coronavirus recovery plan, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced Tuesday. The federal plan will see US$256.6 million for a digital identity solution, $419.9 million to fully implement the Modernising Business Registers (MBR) program, $22.2 million for small businesses training to utilize digital technologies and two blockchain pilot programs totalling $6.9 million. “The Plan supports Australia’s economic recovery by removing out-dated regulatory barriers, boosting the capability of small businesses and backs the uptake of technology across the economy,” Morrison said in the announcement.
Nasdaq launch Blockchain services firm Diginex has become the first crypto exchange operator to list on Nasdaq. The stock went live Thursday morning under the EQOS ticker symbol, a nod to the firm’s EQUOS.io trading platform. CoinDesk’s Nathan DiCamillo reports Diginex’s back-door listing came through a merger with a special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC). Diginex CEO Richard Byworth said he expects a mix of global retail and institutional investors to buy shares. Over time, he expects the majority of Diginex shareholders to be U.S. investors because of the Nasdaq listing.
Dorsey responds Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted his disapproval of Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong’s mission statement to keep his company free and clear of politics. Dorsey argued that by the very act of being a crypto exchange, Coinbase was always already engaged in politics. “Bitcoin (aka ‘crypto’) is direct activism against an unverifiable and exclusionary financial system which negatively affects so much of our society. Important to at least acknowledge and connect the related societal issues your customers face daily. This leaves people behind,” Dorsey tweeted. Armstrong made waves this week – in and out of crypto – when saying Coinbase, and its employees, should keep work and activism separate.
Election predictions Putting stake to their claims, many crypto-political gamblers have cast their vote predicting who might win the contentious U.S. presidential election. CoinDesk markets editor Lawrence Lewitinn looked at the data following this week’s first presidential debate and found many are betting incumbent President Donald Trump will lose in November. While bettors on decentralized betting platforms like Augur and futures markets on FTX aren’t as bullish on the challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden, he does have the odds. “Thus what’s true at the time of publication can change on a dime. It is now fewer than five weeks until Election Day. Buckle up!” Lewitinn warns.
Mining profits HIVE Blockchain has reported its best-ever quarter, as the mining firm raked in record fees from the frenzied activity in decentralized finance (DeFi) over the summer. The Toronto-listed mining company released its unaudited results Thursday, saying it mined a total of 32,000 ether (ETH) and 121,000 ethereum classic (ETC) in the second fiscal quarter ending Sept. 30. Per CoinDesk’s price data, that comes to nearly $11.8 million for mining ether, and a further $664,000 for ethereum classic – approximately $12.4 million at time of writing. The figures represent a near 30% increase from the 25,000 ETH that HIVE mined in the first quarter and a 50% increase in the same quarter in 2019.
Stealth launch In the latest effort to smooth a path for buttoned-up investors, Talos, an institutional-grade conduit to the crypto ecosystem, is emerging from stealth mode to serve brokers, custodians, exchanges and over-the-counter (OTC) trading desks. The platform started out in 2018 and is backed by an impressive list of investors including Autonomous Partners, Castle Island Ventures, Coinbase Ventures and Initialized Capital. Over the past year or so, Talos has been quietly onboarding a core group of capital market participants, so that the platform can make its debut in a revenue-generating state.

Can I save money for this tax season as sole proprietorship by investing into retirement or anything?

So just recently, 10 days ago to be exact, I have it big. I'm a sole proprietorship and I won't be an S Corp until next tax season rolls around. I have profited over 40k in the past 10 days. For the remaining months in the year I could be doing anywhere from 100k to 200k profits a month. Which means I am going to get taxed hard!
Is there anything I can do for this year that will help me for this years taxes? Is there a retirement fund I can start right now that I can throw money into that will help me out with taxes for this tax season? Investing in stocks? Investing in bitcoin? Investing in anything? or am I simply screwed and will have to bite the bullet for this tax season? I think I'll be paying like a ridiculous 40% tax or something right?

Crypto Banking Wars: Will Coinbase or Binance Become The Bank of The Future?

Crypto Banking Wars: Will Coinbase or Binance Become The Bank of The Future?
Can the early success of major crypto exchanges propel them to winning the broader consumer finance market?
https://reddit.com/link/i48t4q/video/v4eo10gom7f51/player
This is the first part of Crypto Banking Wars — a new series that examines what crypto-native company is most likely to become the bank of the future. Who is best positioned to reach mainstream adoption in consumer finance?
While crypto allows the world to get rid of banks, a bank will still very much be necessary for this powerful technology to reach the masses. We believe a crypto-native company, like Genesis Block, will become the bank of the future.
In an earlier series, Crypto-Powered, we laid out arguments for why crypto-native companies have a huge edge in the market. When you consider both the broad spectrum of financial use-cases and the enormous value unlocked through these DeFi protocols, you can see just how big of an unfair advantage blockchain tech becomes for companies who truly understand and leverage it. Traditional banks and fintech unicorns simply won’t be able to keep up.
The power players of consumer finance in the 21st century will be crypto-native companies who build with blockchain technology at their core.
The crypto landscape is still nascent. We’re still very much in the fragmented, unbundled phase of the industry lifecycle. Beyond what Genesis Block is doing, there are signs of other companies slowly starting to bundle financial services into what could be an all-in-one bank replacement.
So the key question that this series hopes to answer:
Which crypto-native company will successfully become the bank of the future?
We obviously think Genesis Block is well-positioned to win. But we certainly aren’t the only game in town. In this series, we’ll be doing an analysis of who is most capable of thwarting our efforts. We’ll look at categories like crypto exchanges, crypto wallets, centralized lending & borrowing services, and crypto debit card companies. Each category will have its own dedicated post.
Today we’re analyzing big crypto exchanges. The two companies we’ll focus on today are Coinbase (biggest American exchange) and Binance (biggest global exchange). They are the top two exchanges in terms of Bitcoin trading volume. They are in pole position to winning this market — they have a huge existing userbase and strong financial resources.
Will Coinbase or Binance become the bank of the future? Can their early success propel them to winning the broader consumer finance market? Is their growth too far ahead for anyone else to catch up? Let’s dive in.

Binance

The most formidable exchange on the global stage is Binance (Crunchbase). All signs suggest they have significantly more users and a stronger balance sheet than Coinbase. No other exchange is executing as aggressively and relentlessly as Binance is. The cadence at which they are shipping and launching new products is nothing short of impressive. As Tushar Jain from Multicoin argues, Binance is Blitzscaling.
Here are some of the products that they’ve launched in the last 18 months. Only a few are announced but still pre-launch.
Binance is well-positioned to become the crypto-powered, all-in-one, bundled solution for financial services. They already have so many of the pieces. But the key question is:
Can they create a cohesive & united product experience?

Binance Weaknesses

Binance is strong, but they do have a few major weaknesses that could slow them down.
  1. Traders & Speculators Binance is currently very geared for speculators, traders, and financial professionals. Their bread-and-butter is trading (spot, margin, options, futures). Their UI is littered with depth charts, order books, candlesticks, and other financial concepts that are beyond the reach of most normal consumers. Their product today is not at all tailored for the broader consumer market. Given Binance’s popularity and strength among the pro audience, it’s unlikely that they will dumb down or simplify their product any time soon. That would jeopardize their core business. Binance will likely need an entirely new product/brand to go beyond the pro user crowd. That will take time (or an acquisition). So the question remains, is Binance even interested in the broader consumer market? Or will they continue to focus on their core product, the one-stop-shop for pro crypto traders?
  2. Controversies & Hot Water Binance has had a number of controversies. No one seems to know where they are based — so what regulatory agencies can hold them accountable? Last year, some sensitive, private user data got leaked. When they announced their debit card program, they had to remove mentions of Visa quickly after. And though the “police raid” story proved to be untrue, there are still a lot of questions about what happened with their Shanghai office shut down (where there is smoke, there is fire). If any company has had a “move fast and break things” attitude, it is Binance. That attitude has served them well so far but as they try to do business in more regulated countries like America, this will make their road much more difficult — especially in the consumer market where trust takes a long time to earn, but can be destroyed in an instant. This is perhaps why the Binance US product is an empty shell when compared to their main global product.
  3. Disjointed Product Experience Because Binance has so many different teams launching so many different services, their core product is increasingly feeling disjointed and disconnected. Many of the new features are sloppily integrated with each other. There’s no cohesive product experience. This is one of the downsides of executing and shipping at their relentless pace. For example, users don’t have a single wallet that shows their balances. Depending on if the user wants to do spot trading, margin, futures, or savings… the user needs to constantly be transferring their assets from one wallet to another. It’s not a unified, frictionless, simple user experience. This is one major downside of the “move fast and break things” approach.
  4. BNB token Binance raised $15M in a 2017 ICO by selling their $BNB token. The current market cap of $BNB is worth more than $2.6B. Financially this token has served them well. However, given how BNB works (for example, their token burn), there are a lot of open questions as to how BNB will be treated with US security laws. Their Binance US product so far is treading very lightly with its use of BNB. Their token could become a liability for Binance as it enters more regulated markets. Whether the crypto community likes it or not, until regulators get caught up and understand the power of decentralized technology, tokens will still be a regulatory burden — especially for anything that touches consumers.
  5. Binance Chain & Smart Contract Platform Binance is launching its own smart contract platform soon. Based on compatibility choices, they have their sights aimed at the Ethereum developer community. It’s unclear how easy it’ll be to convince developers to move to Binance chain. Most of the current developer energy and momentum around smart contracts is with Ethereum. Because Binance now has their own horse in the race, it’s unlikely they will ever decide to leverage Ethereum’s DeFi protocols. This could likely be a major strategic mistake — and hubris that goes a step too far. Binance will be pushing and promoting protocols on their own platform. The major risk of being all-in on their own platform is that they miss having a seat on the Ethereum rocket ship — specifically the growth of DeFi use-cases and the enormous value that can be unlocked. Integrating with Ethereum’s protocols would be either admitting defeat of their own platform or competing directly against themselves.

Binance Wrap Up

I don’t believe Binance is likely to succeed with a homegrown product aimed at the consumer finance market. Their current product — which is focused heavily on professional traders and speculators — is unlikely to become the bank of the future. If they wanted to enter the broader consumer market, I believe it’s much more likely that they will acquire a company that is getting early traction. They are not afraid to make acquisitions (Trust, JEX, WazirX, DappReview, BxB, CoinMarketCap, Swipe).
However, never count CZ out. He is a hustler. Binance is executing so aggressively and relentlessly that they will always be on the shortlist of major contenders.

Coinbase

The crypto-native company that I believe is more likely to become the bank of the future is Coinbase (crunchbase). Their dominance in America could serve as a springboard to winning the West (Binance has a stronger foothold in Asia). Coinbase has more than 30M users. Their exchange business is a money-printing machine. They have a solid reputation as it relates to compliance and working with regulators. Their CEO is a longtime member of the crypto community. They are rumored to be going public soon.

Coinbase Strengths

Let’s look at what makes them strong and a likely contender for winning the broader consumer finance market.
  1. Different Audience, Different Experience Coinbase has been smart to create a unique product experience for each audience — the pro speculator crowd and the common retail user. Their simple consumer version is at Coinbase.com. That’s the default. Their product for the more sophisticated traders and speculators is at Coinbase Pro (formerly GDAX). Unlike Binance, Coinbase can slowly build out the bank of the future for the broad consumer market while still having a home for their hardcore crypto traders. They aren’t afraid to have different experiences for different audiences.
  2. Brand & Design Coinbase has a strong product design team. Their brand is capable of going beyond the male-dominated crypto audience. Their product is clean and simple — much more consumer-friendly than Binance. It’s clear they spend a lot of time thinking about their user experience. Interacting directly with crypto can sometimes be rough and raw (especially for n00bs). When I was at Mainframe we hosted a panel about Crypto UX challenges at the DevCon4 Dapp Awards. Connie Yang (Head of Design at Coinbase) was on the panel. She was impressive. Some of their design philosophies will bode well as they push to reach the broader consumer finance market.
  3. USDC Stablecoin Coinbase (along with Circle) launched USDC. We’ve shared some stats about its impressive growth when we discussed DeFi use-cases. USDC is quickly becoming integrated with most DeFi protocols. As a result, Coinbase is getting a front-row seat at some of the most exciting things happening in decentralized finance. As Coinbase builds its knowledge and networks around these protocols, it could put them in a favorable position to unlock incredible value for their users.
  4. Early Signs of Bundling Though Coinbase has nowhere near as many products & services as Binance, they are slowly starting to add more financial services that may appeal to the broader market. They are now letting depositors earn interest on USDC (also DAI & Tezos). In the UK they are piloting a debit card. Users can now invest in crypto with dollar-cost-averaging. It’s not much, but it’s a start. You can start to see hints of a more bundled solution around financial services.

Coinbase Weaknesses

Let’s now look at some things that could hold them back.
  1. Slow Cadence In the fast-paced world of crypto, and especially when compared to Binance, Coinbase does not ship very many new products very often. This is perhaps their greatest weakness. Smaller, more nimble startups may run circles around them. They were smart to launch Coinbase Ventures where tey invest in early-stage startups. They can now keep an ear to the ground on innovation. Perhaps their cadence is normal for a company of their size — but the Binance pace creates quite the contrast.
  2. Lack of Innovation When you consider the previous point (slow cadence), it’s unclear if Coinbase is capable of building and launching new products that are built internally. Most of their new products have come through acquisitions. Their Earn.com acquisition is what led to their Earn educational product. Their acquisition of Xapo helped bolster their institutional custody offering. They acqui-hired a team to help launch their staking infrastructure. Their acquisition of Cipher Browser became an important part of Coinbase Wallet. And recently, they acquired Tagomi — a crypto prime brokerage. Perhaps most of Coinbase’s team is just focused on improving their golden goose, their exchange business. It’s unclear. But the jury is still out on if they can successfully innovate internally and launch any homegrown products.
  3. Talent Exodus There have been numerous reports of executive turmoil at Coinbase. It raises a lot of questions about company culture and vision. Some of the executives who departed include COO Asiff Hirji, CTO Balaji Srinivasan, VP & GM Adam White, VP Eng Tim Wagner, VP Product Jeremy Henrickson, Sr Dir of Eng Namrata Ganatra, VP of Intl Biz Dan Romero, Dir of Inst Sales Christine Sandler, Head of Trading Hunter Merghart, Dir Data Science Soups Ranjan, Policy Lead Mike Lempres, Sr Compliance Vaishali Mehta. Many of these folks didn’t stay with Coinbase very long. We don’t know exactly why it’s happening —but when you consider a few of my first points (slow cadence, lack of innovation), you have to wonder if it’s all related.
  4. Institutional Focus As a company, we are a Coinbase client. We love their institutional offering. It’s clear they’ve been investing a lot in this area. A recent Coinbase blog post made it clear that this has been a focus: “Over the past 12 months, Coinbase has been laser-focused on building out the types of features and services that our institutional customers need.” Their Tagomi acquisition only re-enforced this focus. Perhaps this is why their consumer product has felt so neglected. They’ve been heavily investing in their institutional services since May 2018. For a company that’s getting very close to an IPO, it makes sense that they’d focus on areas that present strong revenue opportunities — as they do with institutional clients. Even for big companies like Coinbase, it’s hard to have a split focus. If they are “laser-focused” on the institutional audience, it’s unlikely they’ll be launching any major consumer products anytime soon.

Coinbase Wrap Up

At Genesis Block, we‘re proud to be working with Coinbase. They are a fantastic company. However, I don’t believe that they’ll succeed in building their own product for the broader consumer finance market. While they have incredible design, there are no signs that they are focused on or capable of internally building this type of product.
Similar to Binance, I think it’s far more likely that Coinbase acquires a promising young startup with strong growth.

Honorable Mentions

Other US-based exchanges worth mentioning are Kraken, Gemini, and Bittrex. So far we’ve seen very few signs that any of them will aggressively attack broader consumer finance. Most are going in the way of Binance — listing more assets and adding more pro tools like margin and futures trading. And many, like Coinbase, are trying to attract more institutional customers. For example, Gemini with their custody product.

Wrap Up

Coinbase and Binance have huge war chests and massive reach. For that alone, they should always be considered threats to Genesis Block. However, their products are very, very different than the product we’re building. And their approach is very different as well. They are trying to educate and onboard people into crypto. At Genesis Block, we believe the masses shouldn’t need to know or care about it. We did an entire series about this, Spreading Crypto.
Most everyone needs banking — whether it be to borrow, spend, invest, earn interest, etc. Not everyone needs a crypto exchange. For non-crypto consumers (the mass market), the differences between a bank and a crypto exchange are immense. Companies like Binance and Coinbase make a lot of money on their crypto exchange business. It would be really difficult, gutsy, and risky for any of them to completely change their narrative, messaging, and product to focus on the broader consumer market. I don’t believe they would ever risk biting the hand that feeds them.
In summary, as it relates to a digital bank aimed at the mass market, I believe both Coinbase and Binance are much more likely to acquire a startup in this space than they are to build it themselves. And I think they would want to keep the brand/product distinct and separate from their core crypto exchange business.
So back to the original question, is Coinbase and Binance a threat to Genesis Block? Not really. Not today. But they could be, and for that, we want to stay close to them.

A Tell-Tale? An Indicator? A Portent?

I've been looking after my friends' cat for the last month. I returned him yesterday. We had a cup of tea in their garden and my (middle-aged, financially-conservative) friends asked me if I was "still into Bitcoin" (we had talked about it vaguely some years ago). I said I was. They then spent 30 minutes grilling me on it, saying that they had been encouraged by another friend to buy, and in reading about Bitcoin they thought now was a good time to get in. These are people who are usually ultra conservative in their financial life. They wouldn't have given BTC a thought last Christmas. In fact we did talk about it last year, and they rejected it as too risky!
What changed their minds? Their pension fund has collapsed in value, and they said that they had been told several times now that they needed to diversify out of funds, stocks, bonds, property, and most importantly, cash. All of these asset classes will lose value they believe. The future of sterling (we're in Britain) looks much more shaky than it did just 2 months ago what with the mountain of money printing going on. That leaves unconventional assets, and BTC is king of those.
My friends are surely not alone. All over the world there must be middle class people wondering how to protect and grow what wealth they have. As this depression bites harder and harder, I expect we'll see more and more people dip a toe into crypto. Bitcoin will be their first buy.
We could be in for a wild ride this coming year.

The end of CAPITALISM - MUST READ ALL|MUST SHARE FAR AND WIDE. BE PATIENT

Hello everyone! This is my New World Model.
The model is sharing and understanding.
Bit of background:-
Throughout my life I have suffered with Mental Health problems, depression, suicidal thoughts and anxiety. I have battled out of that now and I am extremely passionate to share my story of discovery in order to help everyone else that is suffering around the world.
During this mad COVID-19 lockdown a lot of people are slipping into a very dark place. A place of poverty and desperation. And it is out of the people's control. I have had an idea to regain control.
These thoughts and ideas started coming into my head about why we are suffering and I felt I HAD to write them down. Just to clarify I have been progressively getting these thoughts as my mental health declined. Am I losing it? Or is that just poor attitude and wrongly implemented judgement that came to that conclusion?
It is a long read but please finish it and share it as quickly as possible. Thank you. Oh yeah and don't judge as these are my RAW thoughts in text form based upon what has been happening throughout history- NOT any finalized set-in-stone idea. I just want to open the discussion up. People will say it can never work. It can if we do it properly. We already know our current system is not working so what's the risk?
*DRAFT no. 1*
Indiscriminate resource sharing world-wide.
Helping others is the priority for everyone not making imaginary monetary profit.
People's individual or collective time and energy as currency. An aeroplane needs to get build. We as a species of capable animals allow the team of people to build the aeroplane for us to travel whilst supplying childcare, food and water for free of course. We the people have the ability to solve world wide problems. We just need world wide solutions in order to do so. Abolishment of these false currencies we created which encourages greed exploitation and ignorance to the famine and struggle going on worldwide. This is the first step we MUST take if we want to survive as a species in my opinion. Yes we could colonize the milky way but if we take money with us as an idea ultimately we'll destroy every planet we step foot on through industrialisation and pollution. Until the last planet wipes us out with a fancy new mars virus😂👀
Give people comfort and they will thrive. Give them money and they turn bad. Their priorities and intentions get reversed and the compassion of mankind dies as people are scared to let go of their imaginary money. The priority for everyone becomes greed. Hoarding money as a reserve so that only YOU can live comfortably. At the expense of every starving person world wide.
When a man has no food, water or shelter worries he can properly focus on what actually matters. Helping others by sharing resources with neighbour's in need or giving up your time here to build a hut for someone who is homeless and without a hut. Not because you will gain physical items as a reward but because you will get a spiritual reward. Happiness, empathy, compassion and gratitude. The real rewards in this life not some backwards idea about an imaginary piece of paper that everyone is chasing yet no one is happy to be doing so.
We didn't get so far by inventing monetary incentives for people. The incentives were already there. Love thy neighbour. That's the model that worked. The only sustainable one.
"Give us the teachings of his majesty, for we don't want no devil philosophy" - Bob Marley. in the form of offerings. What you had to offer to your neighbour and vice versa. And that's the model we need to return to -to progress positively. I think this is what most religions are about. The kind people who wrote religious texts soon realised that people will be born that will stray from the ideas of religious books and this brought much death and destruction to the innocent people. To protect the innocent - religion alone would not be enough so they decided that the only way to righteousness for the heathen was to leave this world and come back as another being in order to learn the proper way to live from the teachings of his kind father in order to lead a proper life as it was intended.
I think this may be where human sacrifice came from. The people who did not choose to follow the truth in the forms of religious text were sacrificed to the 'gods' or creators of life as the ancient societies battled to contain the human-caused destruction of the land and animals.
However in doing so we became the greedy murderous people we strived to avoid for centuries.
This is not the correct model we should have been living by. That is the model of tyranny. Forcing people to believe the light exists instead of showing them the light. Light=kindness
Forgiveness and resource sharing is the only sustainable model I can think of.
Your dog loves you because you give him what he needs to be able to live as a dog. Jesus tried to give the people what they need to thrive as men and was crucified for it.
Jesus was not reincarnated. But another man with the same ideas was born from this earth. With the same message of unity. Did Jesus come back from the dead or just the idea behind Jesus's teachings? Maybe they had a similar appearance. Maybe they even had the same name.
But they were not the same "person" as they were born of different mothers.
The idea of unity was the thing that was really resurrected, not a man.
If the true nature of this earth is such that good men are born and so are bad men then we need acknowledge it and accept it and try to show people the reasons behind WHY they should behave a certain way. Never should be for personal gain.
If there were two men born into the world and two plates of food. What right does one man have to the food? He has every right to it. But when he chooses to take the food and his companion dies of starvation. Only then will he realise just how dark and lonely the world is without using HIS OWN compassion.
I will not force you to believe and follow what I am saying. But I will leave you to figure it out for yourself. Whether that's tomorrow or in 10,000 years. Whenever we all start owning our mistakes we have been making as a species and not prosecuting for mistakes made but showing people why their wrong and letting them decide for themselves.
Whether Bob Marley died as nature intended or was killed by powerful men in order to prevent a mass awakening of spirituality is another debate.
This is what the bible was made for.
This is Jesus's message
It is only that way because we are afraid of leaving this world. Afraid of death. Death isn't the enemy. Its the reason we all are here in the first place. The whole world political system is based on fear of death. We need to rid of this to prosper as a species.s made but showing people why their wrong and letting them decide for themselves.
The big question to you is. What are YOU going to do?
World leaders have assassinated people that are a threat to their country's economy and their stash of imaginary money. This has gone on for centuries.
The above model does not pose a threat to the inferior monetary system but replaces it entirely. In return we all get happiness and gratitude. There still may be resource issues. But we will overcome them as a collective righteous world society. The old will starve to death in order for the young to grow and prosper. They should be allowed to Switzerland themselves off this planet to free up resources for their children. This should not be illegal when it is necessary. When one cant survive without stealing the resources from the younger generation. At the moment it is the other way around. The greedy old generation of yesteryear is taking from the young, and it is destroying us all.
It is only that way because we are afraid of leaving this world. Afraid of death. Death isn't the enemy. Its the reason we all are here in the first place. The whole world political system is based on fear of death. We need to rid of this to prosper as a species.
Do not post until humanity is really threatened. Otherwise the people in power will ignore. Ignorance is bliss after all.
Ignorance from spirituality is the opposite of bliss. Fear, anxiety, depression, misused aggression.
We misunderstood religion. Misunderstood religious sacrificial killings of humans and animals. Because of that there has been worldwide spread of spiritual devaluation.
They were sacrificing to protect their own children. They did not want to kill the snake. But the snake was biting the children so was killed by the villagers to protect the young. The snake still has every right to keep it's young safe. That's why he bites the human. The human has the right to keep his young safe, that's why he kills the snake, lion, man. And that is why war is happening. People's inert desire to care for their young means they are willing to die in war for their young to prosper. We shouldn't be at war with ourselves, but with nature.
When the storms come we round up and shield each other. When the hungry lion comes we acknowledge he needs to feed his family and before feeding the lion we must seek to protect human beings first. Animal sacrifice was just animal population control. As the will to live is strong for the Lion he will look to take food off the man. But he will only do that when man stops offering him the food in return for NOTHING. When this happens the lion kills out of starvation and the will to live. You see we are taking food off eachother, taking our resources off one another simply because of our will to live and to allow our young to prosper. In the process we are causing other humans to suffer.
To mitigate this as much as possible we need to suppress the idea of greed and selfishness and only act in kindness to our self and then our young. No one else. Once this is accomplished by all there will be true world peace. Warfare will cease to exist and people will be willing to share time energy and resources for the good of humankind. Not animalkind. We can make a start on animals once we have sorted ourselves out first! But we can't start at animal or we will forget ourselves. Warfare will cease to exist anymore and we will be truly free to prosper. Warfare whether nuclear or biological is used by the richest in order to hoard resources for their future young to prosper.
The common man has no need for war.
Only the wealthy.
We need to use food oil coal electricity gas whatever as currency because that is fundamentally what the citizens need. Not paper from a tree.
This is what will happen everywhere eventually. No matter how long it takes.
So from now on I pledge to do what's right by me, then my family, then my children (if i have any) and then the rest of my human brothers and sisters. Not for anyone else but because this is how i have decided to start living my life. From doing so I will prosper just like Karma said I would. You can prosper too, and so can your children and your children's children. But only when we change can we prosper onwards.
The break from the system we are currently experiencing in the form of Coronavirus COVID-19 is equal to the 40 days and 40 nights story. Jesus breaks away from the societal system and fasts or whatever. Which allows him to reconnect and rediscover what is really important to the human life. I think that's religion basically.hat is dictatorship.
That is the wrong model.
The model was designed and enforced by certain powerful groups out of fear and desperation for the people. They wanted to save the people from themselves. They just didn't see what it would evolve into. How their seemingly wise ancient sacrificial system could change the world for the worse.
Well now we do. We see the war. We see the starvation. We see the destruction caused by the failings of the system and yet here we all are with food stock in our fridge. Pretending to be blissfully ignorant while out there somewhere, someone is suffering because of the very system we are enforcing on the people of earth.
World leaders- its time to wake up and change the system.
Design your policies on the good they can do. Not the fake paper money that can be gained from the policies that you enforce. Oppression has served its purpose. We got the technology and knowledge to help everyone. Lets start doing it now. Because this type of solution is coming eventually. As it is the only sustainable one.
Obviously i don't agree with everything in religion because i think that it was added to by others and over time became the system that enslaved not served.uage in order to communicate this message. His ancestors used pictures on rocks in the form of hieroglyphs. important to the human life. I think thats religion basically.
Jesus wasn't teaching his own teachings but he was trying to get man to recognize the failings in the societal model being followed. He used the human language in order to communicate this message. His ancestors used pictures on rocks in the form of hieroglyphs. important to the human life. I think that's religion basically.
They are not Jesus's teachings but everyone's.
Obviously I don't agree with everything in religion because i think that it was added to by others and over time became the system that enslaved not served.
Just like western capitalism.
The ancient humans made the same mistake and bludgeoned eachother to death with sticks for food thinking every man would do the same.
This is what we must teach our children.
Dont be the ancient murderer. Dont let the system abolish your true values.
Dont be the ancient homonid murderer's and slave masters.
Dont be the adolf Hitlers.
Dont be the Winston churchills.
But be the marley, be the ghandi, preach your message of peace and kindness.
Because if you dont us humans will go extinct due to our own greed and the next species to evolve on this planet over the next million years will take our place. We could well be molten lava at the centre of the earth by this point. The replacement beings that have evolved for millions of years at the top of the food chain wont mind. They wont miss us.
They wont mourn us.
They wont care about us.
But they will learn from us to become the men that we should have been.
We have had chances to change already.
Maybe the virus is here to humble us enough to do so. Maybe not. Whether man created it or nature, it will humble us one by one.
The purpose of life is to pass information onto others, and we have been passing down the wrong information if we want our species to survive.
If your dog bites we teach him there is no need to bite for he has everything he needs to live right here at home. If a human "bites" we judge upon them and lock them in a jail hell as punishment. In order to create a kind compassionate human society worldwide we must stop locking people away and we must work with them to understand their problems and help them overcome. Once the oppression has been majorly negated worldwide for a few generations only then will we thrive as a species of love and peace, without mass famine, without war, without starvation, without drought.
That will be the dogs home we create for ourselves to live in peace.
When we dont have any problems we will look to create them in our own minds. If we compare with others we will feel we dont have enough. We must not compare. Instead we must voice why we require more. If there is sufficient reaources and your reasons are justifiably kind then you can have it. If not then stop asking and start pissing with the cock you got otherwise you are causing suffering world wide by taking more than is required. We must recognize this as an animalistic bodily reaction akin to jealousy. Taking due to jealousy will lead us back down that same path we've been on for all time.
No one person is oppressing another. It's the system of oppression that needs to change.
The only reason we all follow the current system is because someone else is dealing with the bigger issues caused by the system. We need to stop taking this blind-eye attitude to our system
Money should be persecuted for causing us to willingly commit crimes against humanity.
It should be destroyed or used wisely for now by different means such as bitcoin as it is a finite amount and cannot be inflated. Not the current model of greed. Inflating the currency so much that it's worthless to the small man who has pennies and is still heavily taxed by the government and therefore it encourages the small humble family man to seek more and more and more to become a rich person like his celebrity idol, friend, boss etc all the while turning a blind eye to all the suffering they're causing along the way. Be yourself not what your idols are. What I mean by that is drop all opinion that you do not hold to be true and treat people how you would treat yourself. With 100% respect, patience and understanding.
If you cannot see something from someone else's perspective then you are lying to yourself or you are closed minded and are for some reason unable to imagine being the other person and then imagining how they would feel in any given scenario and then going from there with how you choose to treat them - based upon what would help you through a big mess and see what you were doing wrong and what you could do to put it right. This is the level of respect and empathy we should take and give and show our children too.
That may help humanity out of this mess.
Does 'matter' create us or do we create matter.
Do the subatomic particles of our body make us conscious or is it our souls. If its your soul then who created your soul. If you say no one it was biology and nature then who created nature. If you say no one it just exists as a force because something big imploded then how does creation exist in the first place you say no one knows be quiet.
If you say our subatomic particles make us conscious because rocks from space imploded. Imploded from what? Why? Every event must be linked to one creator of all events ever. What is that creator of events that lead to the creation of earth's life including your own birth and even this very thought. You say no one knows be quiet.
If you say aliens from another planet introduced their intelligence genome to monkeys in order to take over the planet as their resources are slim on theirs then who created intelligence. If we became what we refer to as "aliens" and were successfully able to fully colonize mars and then our galaxy and even the whole universe as we multiply exponentially on every planet in the expanding universe we have terra formed will we eventually catch up with the expansion of time? Enabling us to travel back to the beginning of life+time's creation. Thus finding our answer to whatever created this rocky abyss we're a part of and who knows maybe we'll even find out why and whats next to discover.
Time and life are what made us. Time started for whatever reason and created the universe. The universe created life. And we are here trying to discover what created time. Maybe once we do everything will make more sense. Maybe that's black holing it straight into somewhere equally as crazy. The question is does time and life make it through the black hole to the other side of the multiverse where time begins again. If so how many of these are there until we reach the finale, if theres only one universe or we're down to the final multiverse then what? We break the multiverse by simply living in it until we destroy it and it destroys life with it. Well what happens then. Where did all the matter and life disappear to? Heaven forever to exist as pure bliss? I dont know. You could say it doesn't exist anymore and thats it. Ok but somehow there was nothing and we appeared so there must be something. The life force of all creation within us and time is the only thing that may truly exist. And when it gets bored it kicks off and kickstarts the events all over again.
Therefore if aliens visit a planet it will be to include their DNA type and irradicate the existing one. Thus introducing alien dna into the beings to make us conscious beings enjoying new forms of nature every time around. Sometimes with a horsehead sometimes with an Egyptian cat. As a sort of fungus that grows to replace us. Maybe that fungus is what we consider evil to be. Anything that changes us for the "bad" (by our life model) might be for a bigger reason. Maybe we need to find out the root cause of our existence or maybe we just need to shut up and enjoy living. But either way is terrifying for us to comprehend. But it might be undeniable truth that we cant see that is keeping us in this hell and from moving forward on this vibrant earth in the best way.
Nature is the only dictator and we are the ones who choose whether to go by natures rules or not.
The current model is one where currency is printed on paper or plastic until it causes so much destruction it has to be replaced with the same thing repackaged as a better idea aka digital currencies. This will sustain us for a while until it eventually does the same thing. The only way forward for us all to be free from suffering is to allow people to be who they are as long as they cause no harm to other humans and when they feel ready they can venture out of comfort and boredom and bring forth their ideas of contribution and improvement and start putting them into practice.
I think the slow change we're all going through will lead us there. If most of the people on earth suddenly died then people would form a group to help eachother survive. That would grow into another new society. Will they create gold coins and start exploiting people for the gold instead of allowing everyone to live happily and comfortably? Probably yes. Will they end up in the same position we are in now of division and monetary competition which causes the death of the poorest every day? Probably. Or will they decide to keep helping eachother and keep sharing and teach their children to do the same all the way up to world population. What would that sharing world look like. And can we achieve it.
Why haven't we already done this you ask? Surely if it was that obvious and feasible then everyone would be doing this already.
The answer is we were. But as we evolved and grew in population we started to change our behaviour as a species. This was due to the people being forced against their will to work for the masters. Whether that was by slavery or with monetary bribes or both.
Maybe we can undo the damage and return to our roots of kindness to all people?
We need to prohibit money as thats making our lives miserable.
Prohibit the idea of selfishness and exploitation all the way down to allowing your parent to die because theres not enough food left for the developing child nextdoor. Who knows then maybe that child will grow up and discover a way to feed his elders that for some reason the elders and top adults were unable to see.
Thats the way I look at the world. In order to correct the problems that plagued my elders. Thats what we should be using the young generation for. Not schooling them up to be able to earn money for the rich elders who do nothing but hoard it for their young all the while allowing others to suffer because of it. I believe it all started with greed and selfishness and our individual will to live. However we have developed language now. We have the advantage of being able to communicate our intentions and wants/needs to others. Why arent we using that language to negotiate our behaviour towards eachother for the benefit of all. Why are we only using our language for personal gain.
We learn to speak in school then learn to write then we learn how to use it in a negative destructive way and we all do it because we were taught by our elders to basically fight for money until you're comfortable and then forget about the rest of society. All under the guise of 'money is necessary for every one's survival and progression'. It's not necessary at all. It used to be. But we are advanced enough to do away with money and greed now. Why aren't we doing it?
Because the people at the top haven't said so... YET.
A - nothing lyrics refers to we've got nothing without helping one another.
We aint got nothing if we've got money except a bank full of exploitation greed and selfishness.
All country leaders need to agree simultaneously to abolish money and make resources free for everyone simultaneously and freeze the use of all money. Everyone still has to go to work as people need to be fed homed electricity and gas. And we need to keep these services running in the world. Money becomes useless and everyone gets everything they need to live. Eventually they should look to prosper out of comfort and bring forth their societal improvement ideas for implementation.
This means no laws. No drugs are illegal. Nothing is illegal because if it is then there will be people who will use that to exploit others = criminals. Criminals will then hoard things to exploit others as they'll convince themselves that them and their family are more worthy than others. So we only trade with perishable items so that they cannot be hoarded and siphoned from others by the greedy.
Biodegradable money? Or just actually stick to our promise of helping others THEN inventing things to improve the species.
Like wikipedia where anyone can contribute to putting factual information on there.
We need to realise that anyone can contribute to the progression model mentioned above and as long as it's followed properly we'll be on our way to world peace and happiness for all.
As long as we debate what is needed with passion for the human rights of the people we will prosper.
We need to realise our true purpose as a species and that is to protect and serve. Eachother.
We got lost somewhere along the way, but we can correct our problems. But only we can. And only when we stand up and have the guts to do so.
Unless we want to continue on fighting with eachother which is preventing us from leaving the planet to colonize. We will go extinct on this great fireball through natural weather disasters and plagues. Wiping out the human species altogether.
Unless we change our course as a collective species to allow us to get off this planet and populate another to ensure our survival.
When we do that is another question only world leaders can answer.
So i ask you, the leader of your countrymen, are you in?
If so then all the poweful leaders all the world must unite. Starting with the most powerful.
Just like what happened when the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK idea was created.
My ideas can be expanded by richer men who have the means to do so. In order for the growth of our species.
We must allow people to live in order to grow. And to live is to have the possibility to do anything without persecution and condemnation legal or otherwise. That includes killing another man and helping a woman delivering a child. That is our right its up to us to choose not to use the bad parts. Can we all learn not to?
Thats what the 10 commandments are no? We ingored that then and have been suffering ever since. Lets not ignore it this time. Lets end human suffering for all. We can only accomplish this if we all succeed in passing down the morality to our children. This is what i would teach my child and i think everyone would do the same if it meant no human suffering.
My dog doesn't need to hunt another in order to survive. I have given him everything he needs so he can live a happy and peaceful life. If he gets agitated I initiate play time and exercise.
He then comes back down to peace and relaxation. This is sport. We should all be doing sports as a form of exercise not to get a more appealing appearance but to rid ourselves of the [continued...]

The Saturn Time Cube (MEGATHREAD) Part 2

So we left off asking ourselves the question: what will happen when literally everything is linked up to the cube? In order to answer that question I think we should first take a step back and ask how it will happen.
If you’re familiar with the Bible you know that before the apocalypse begins there will be a world leader known as the antichrist. The antichrist will supposedly implement a new monetary system, one enforced by a certain ‘mark’.
“He causes all, both great and small, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark.” — Revelation 13
Some conspiracy theorists think this mark will be a computer chip implanted in your hand. This technology already exists, and some people are actually already utilizing it.
https://www.scmp.com/news/world/europe/article/2145896/thousands-people-sweden-get-microchip-implants-new-way-life
People get this chip because it’s convenient. You no longer have to carry around your ID or your credit cards. You’ll never lose them either, because they’re... attached to your body.
However, in order to make the chip mandatory, the first thing that has to happen is the eradication of all paper money. This is already happening. Most currency existing today is digital. In fact, it’s around 90%.
https://m.timesofindia.com/12-weird-but-true-facts-about-technology/92-of-The-worlds-currency-is-digital/photostory/51422304.cms
I believe cryptocurrency, you know shit like bitcoin, is major step in the direction of a cashless society. Will bitcoin be the new dollar? I don’t think so. But I do think there is a company out there paving the way for whatever it might be. That company is Chainlink.
Now that you know a bit about Saturn’s symbols, you can see why I find this company a bit creepy. But the weirdness doesn’t stop with their logos, it goes much deeper.
https://static.turbosquid.com/Preview/2018/02/07__08_55_26/chainlink02.jpeg6637B8AF-4C37-4977-8BE6-B3431444A3F3Default.jpg
First of all, the origins of Chainlink are a bit sketchy. What was supposed be a small startup, was given accolades by the big boys at the World Economic Forum.
https://m.imgur.com/LINKTrade3m9uC
Not only that but they are already working with the infamous SWIFT system. SWIFT, or the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, is a vast messaging network used by banks all over the world. To me this sounds like the infrastructure of a one world economic system.
They also recently aquired the Town Crier project. Look familiar?
https://tech.cornell.edu/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/town-crier_BAC-logo.png
https://i0.wp.com/www.whats-your-sign.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/SaturnSymbolMeaning.jpg?fit=1600%2C987&ssl=1
But even more strange, is the fact that one of Chainlink’s advisors, Ari Juels, seems to belong to a cult, the Cult of Demeter! He even references it on his personal webpage.
https://www.arijuels.com/whats-the-banner-about/
Demeter was the goddess of the harvest, agriculture, fertility and sacred law. Like we discussed earlier, Saturn was known for the same things. Saturn was also known as the god with a thousand names and was both male and female, so it is possible that Demeter was a personification of the ringed planet. However, this doesn’t make much of a difference. It’s still weird.
The cult of Demeter is a very old thing. It began in ancient Greece and was known for it’s yearly ceremonies where new members were initiated into the Eleusinian Mysteries. There is not much known about them, except that they stressed the importance of the cycle of descending into the underworld and returning anew. They tried their best to keep all of their rites, ceremonies, and beliefs a secret.
Ari Juels also wrote a bizarre novel called Tetrakyts. It’s about a secret cult of latter day followers of Pythagoras who are performing cyberattacks around the world. The numerology obsessed cyber terrorists believe they are oracles doing the work of God.
https://www.arijuels.com/fiction/
An oracle is a priest or priestess who acts as a medium for prophecy to be spoken through. Thousands of years ago, people would travel far and wide to ask them about the future. Chainlink literally calls itself an ‘oracle network’. Does Ari see himself as one of the cultists in his book?
The name of his book is a play on the word tetractys. The tetractys, or tetrad, is a mystical symbol and it was very important to the secret worship of Pythagoreanism. Pythagoras believed God was numbers.
Pythagoras, like those in the cult of Demeter, believed in reincarnation. He believed between each cycle of rebirth was a period of 216 years, which is the number six cubed, or 6³, which brings us back to the cube and 666.
So let’s pretend these people are paving the way to global cashless society. What else would need to happen? What about the mark on the forehead? Well, have you heard of Elon Musk’s Neuralink?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuralink
This new product is literally trying to link our brains up with our smartphones. As if we didn’t use them enough. I don’t think this is the mark of the beast, but I do think the technology is carving out the path towards it.
Any type of technology being implanted in my body is a scary thought. What if there’s a glitch or something? I think this technology will eventually be used for mind control.
Mind control technology already exists. Can you imagine how much easier it could be done if everyone had a chip in their brain? I believe those who take the mark will become a part of a hivemind, like the Borg from Star Trek, who ironically travel around in a cube!
https://patents.google.com/patent/US6506148B2/en
The hivemind is already happening. Everyone’s thoughts are constantly being shaped by the subliminal programming and propaganda the television and radio feed them. I hate to say it, schools to blame as well. Ever wonder why you wear a black cube on your head at your gradual indoctrination ceremony? Whoops, I mean graduation...
Scientists estimate by the year 2045 humans will be able to upload their consciousness into the ‘cloud’ or onto a computer or robotic body and live forever. I don’t know about you, but living forever sounds like Hell, and that might be the meaning of the mark sending people straight to the fiery furnace.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2045_Initiative
The new virtual reality game Observation and Netflix movie 2036 Origin Unknown show us this merging of man with machine and it’s affiliation with Saturn. Spoiler alert for the next two paragraphs.
In Observation, a woman and her AI companion crash land their space ship inside Saturn’s hexagonal storm. They find themselves on an alternate Earth where all possible timelines have merged into one. It’s here that they become one entity.
In 2036 Origin Unknown a massive black cube is found on Mars. Again, a woman and her AI companion are trying to study it. After a series of events that results in the nuclear destruction of planet earth, it is revealed that the woman was inside the cube the whole time and that she was actually a copy of her real self being tested by the AI over and over again.
Is this the game we’ve been playing for all of time? Are they creating a simulation within the simulation to further trap us in a hall of mirrors? We might already have the mark. Just take a look at what our DNA is made of.
http://www.mostholyplace.com/wpimages/wp5386c9a0_01_1a.jpg
Without the mark we can not buy or sell, or rather, we can not participate in commerce. Commerce is defined as intercourse. Without your carbon based body you could not have sex and reproduce. In fact, your birth certificate is really a bank note, which means you, the citizen are what is known in the stock market as a commodity.
So how do we escape this time loop, this serpent biting its own tail? How do we hop off the wheel? I hinted at it earlier, but if this thread gets just as good as a reaction as the last one, I will continue the series. Thank you for reading.

The Not-Future of Meat (It's not beef. It's not plant protein. It's not … a good idea.)

We live in the Year of the Faux Burger. The meatless Impossible Whopper debuted at Burger Kings across the United States in August, while McDonald’s is rolling out what it calls the P.L.T. (plant, lettuce, tomato) in Canada to see if customers bite. Beyond Meat, which makes the patty for the P.L.T., went public in May and became the hottest stock of 2019, pushing the company’s valuation well into the billions. One hedge fund manager compared the enthusiasm over fake meat to early investor frenzy over Bitcoin.
Now into this burgeoning culinary niche comes a new offering: The Blend.
It’s a dull name for a curious product. The Blend, from Tyson Foods, is made using pea protein, just like Beyond Meat’s burger. Both come in brown-and-green packaging. Both are soy-free. There is one notable difference, however, between the two products. The Blend, in contrast to Beyond Burger, contains beef. The kind from actual cows.
The Blend is a new entry in an unlikely market category that has emerged in recent months: foods that aren’t quite meat, but aren’t really not meat, either. Hormel debuted its own gastronomic mishmash earlier this year as part of the Applegate Organics line—a fake-meat/real-meat, beef-and-mushroom patty that is, confusingly enough, called The Great Organic Blend Burger. The company bragged that it had created a “mouthwatering burger that epitomizes clean labels while also catering to the growing population of flexitarians.” Applegate’s president, John Ghingo, proclaimed it a “win, win, win for conscious carnivores.”
...If you’re a conscious or conflicted carnivore, why would eating planimals—a portmanteau that so far none of these companies has embraced—be an appealing dietary solution? Tyson’s tagline for The Blend, “Don’t Change Who You Are To Improve How You Eat,” suggests that there are consumers who want a burger with fewer calories and less saturated fat but worry that eating a straight-up veggie burger would mean surrendering some essential part of their identity. It’s a slippery slope from there to playing Hacky Sack shirtless at a farmer’s market.
As a non-vegetarian who often eats veggie burgers, I’m pretty much the target demo for this brave new protein category. My fellow flexitarians and I, who make up either one-third or one-fifth of the population depending on how you count, are usually motivated by overlapping concerns about health, animal welfare, and the environment. We care about these things, but not enough to abstain entirely from consuming flesh. In theory, the in-between burger is just what we’ve been looking for.
Or at least you see how a meat-company executive could arrive at that conclusion. If all these flexitarians are up for eating veggie burgers and beef burgers, they should be extra chuffed at the prospect of eating both at the same time. A sandwich that splits the difference—finally the code has been cracked! One imagines Tyson and Hormel executives nodding at this forward-thinking pitch while nibbling contentedly on Vienna sausages. (I’m guessing this is how meat-company executives behave behind closed doors.)
If only my inner conflict were so easily assuaged. The food industry’s approach to people like me—let them eat fake and steak—misunderstands how people like me choose what to eat. We tend to approach menu decision in terms of two rival pleasures, restraint and indulgence. Part of the upside of ordering a veggie burger or a kale salad or a quinoa-and-beet pilaf is the knowledge that you’re making a more healthful and ethical choice by avoiding meat. The Blend robs you of that smug buzz. To make matters worse, you’re not experiencing the borderline religious exaltation of a truly killer cheeseburger. Instead you’re settling for a meal you can neither thoroughly enjoy nor feel good about not thoroughly enjoying. If that makes sense.

I don’t know about you, but living forever sounds like Hell, and that might be the meaning of the mark sending people straight to the fiery furnace.
http://2045.com
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2045_Initiative

Everyone just needs to calm the hell down. The game has changed.

The game HAS changed. The only people freaking out are the people who are either here only to get rich quick, or who can't critically think and see the whole picture.
First of all, this is currency traded as a commodity. This isn't a stock and Litecoin isn't a company. So Charlie Lee getting out literally cannot be compared to ANYTHING. So stop trying to. Second of all, it's true what they say about him. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Anyone paying attention already knows that.
I watched the Litecoin stream last night. So many good things are coming. Charlie donating all his coins is an absolute MUST with what is coming. Look across the isle at Bitcoin and Bcash. Right now Roger Ver is pretty much the figurehead for Bcash. He's using his extreme wealth to buy air time and push his ideological agenda. I'm not here to argue his ideologies or what Bcash stands for. What I can tell you is that Roger Ver is using his money to influence the market by promoting Bcash and spreading insane FUD about Bitcoin. The price is going to go nuts, there will be political ramifications, and many people are going to lose money. In time, this will come back to bite him in the ass.
Now, Charlie is the figurehead for Litecoin. He's been pushing marketing for the coin and the Litecoin Foundation is kicking it into high gear by utilizing marketing firms and no doubt getting on TV even more...among other things like merchandising. You cannot have Charlie hamstrung like that. He cannot do certain things for promotion when he has a stake in what he's selling. He will end up looking like Roger Ver (albeit a very genuinely nice version of him) if he did.
When you invest in Litecoin you invest in what it stands for and you back the developer team pushing it into the future. Charlie getting out is like untying the ball and chain. He is now 100% free to push this shit to the extreme because now NOBODY can say "oh, he's just shilling for his coin because he's making a killing."
Open your eyes and see the big picture.

For those who invested im bitcoin: do you think it is time to sell?

I have a decent sum of money invested in bitcoin and my investment just doubled. I thought about it long and hard and here are some key point that influenced my decision.
1.) What is the real value of bitcoin
Having some experience with stock trading in traditional market this is the main question. It roughly translates into two questions : what is the smallest amount people are willing to pay for the item and what is the biggest amount people are willing to pay for the item.
Obviously the real value of bitcoin is 0. Like money it is essentially worthless but there is a big difference - like in the case of Greece it is the bank system that ensures money is always valuable and money can only become worthless if there is no bank system able to uphold its value.
So unlike every other item on the market which value is defined by the item's properties when we talk about crypto we have no point of reference. The smallest amount people are willing to pay for the item is 0. I watched JP morgan's comments on bitcoin and I think their reasoning is along those lines. "We are not willing to pay for the item for which we are convinced that it's potentially worthless". Which I think means that they simply are rich enough to not gamble with the odds. I like to say that the problem here is that JP already owns multiple lambos so they are not willing to gamble while an average Joe who's probability to ever own one is extremely low, is willing to gamble.
  1. Market traders and bitcoin
The fact JP is not willing to gamble makes me to believe a huge percent of traders is going to cash out on bitcoin in the next days. For a huge investment firm that put in let's say 20 million at 3k it is just a matter of time that they cash out. To keep the analogy: they are not trying to make money to buy a lambo they are just trying to pay for the gas for the lambo they already own. They just made 20 million why wait? A few of those massive cashouts could destroy the price of bitcoin within minutes. And I think my fears here is exactly why investment firms are not going to hold much longer. They, like me, don't want to be the last to cash out. They just want to make money.
So from this perspective it is impossible for market traders to drive the price up.
  1. Is general public going to bite?
The most important question of them all. I think the outflow of the money that came from big investment firms is inevitable but can it be corrected from the inflow of money from general public? I have to say I doubt it. The amount of people able and willing to invest is limited.
Let's say Joe bought in last year at 8k saw his retirement money shoot up to 18k held to 3k and finally decided to cash out. Is he coming back? I doubt it.
The problem last year that I think could affect this years bitcoin story is that the idea was sold to general public as a sure way to make a lot of money. Joe came in assured that he will profit and left with not enough money to pay rent. The downswing made general public be vary of bitcoin and I think that gaining back trust will take more than another upswing to 10k. I think that protential investors this year are more or less the same people that for burned last year.
  1. The big question
The question than is where does the money that would make bitcoin pass 10k come from? Do you guys believe that a lot of potential investors last year did not invest and are willing to invest today? When we talk about a traditional market item, let's take an experimental drug to cure cancer as an example, there is an inherent value to it that you can bet on. Even though it might be poorely received first year on market you can still bet on its success based on its properties. But bitcoin past certain mark is just a betting game where you bet that the next investor is willing to invest same amount or more. Is there enough people left willing to bet? It becomes extremely unpredictable. That is why I am cashing out 90% and leaving 10% for what I believe extreme unlikelihood of landing on the moon.
What do you guys think?

WSB101 - THE BOOK OF YOLO: BEGINNERS GUIDE TO TRADING LIKE A DEGENERATE AND EVERYTHING WSB

The Book of Yolo: COMPLETE GUIDE TO WSB
The goal of this is to actually create something that all of you WSB newbies can read - because we’re all tired of seeing the endless wave of uninformed and unavoidable stupidity from those who have never touched the stock market. CALLING ALL NEWFAGS AND NORMIES.
If you can’t read, GFY now.
Now that we will be on the popular section of reddit, this has become pertinent. WSB can't avoid newcomers, so we might as well explain how the clock ticks here. This one is for you all.
This is to serve as a reference what values we hold, what instruments we use, and as a general place to educated the uneducated.
First off, this is the LEAST helpful stock market-based community for newcomers. Sarcastic answers are the only thing of true value here. It isn't a place to learn, but a place to plan out where you will dock your yacht. Newcomers are usually berated upon asking the inevitable stupid questions that they could learn slowly from reading here, or just using a damn search engine. Instead of embarrassing yourself here, you now have the opportunity to read this and get what we’re all rambling about.
This will help you understand what to expect if you make the decision to undertake a WSB style trading career, so you can stay here and contribute to the yolo lifestyle or otherwise GFY.
I will edit in any suggestions that our frequenting users or mods want to add to this as well.
To begin: Here are our topics for WSB101

BASICS/EQUTIES Skip if you understand basic stock stuff
Okay, so what is an equity/stock? An equity is essentially what you’d think of as your “vanilla” trading tool. They move up or down depending on market forces, and can range from pennies to thousands of dollars per share. To explain how stocks work, let's define a few terms.
Volume: The number of shares of stock traded during a particular time period, normally measured in average daily trading volume.
Spread: The difference between the bid and the ask price
Bid Price: The current price in which someone wants to buy at
Ask Price:The current price in which someone wants to sell at
Volatility: The WSB favorite. Volatility is referring to the price movements of a stock as a whole. The higher the volatility, the more the stock is moving up or down. Highly volatile stocks are ones with extreme daily up and down movements and wide intraday trading ranges.
Margin: A margin account lets a person borrow money (take out a loan essentially) from a broker to purchase an investment. The difference between the amount of the loan, and the price of the securities, is called the margin. Margin is one of WSB’s popular instruments of wealth and destruction.
Dividend: This is a portion of a company’s earnings that is paid to shareholders, or people that own hat company’s stock, on a quarterly or annual basis. Not all companies do this.
PPS: Acronym for “Price per Share”
Moving Average: A stock’s average price-per-share during a specific period of time.
Bullish: Expecting the stock to go up
Bearish: Expecting the stock to go down

Now that these terms are defined, let's move into the details of why this is even useful. Most people know what a stock is, but how and why stocks move is a different story. The stock market is essentially a big virtualization of supply and demand - meaning that usually high positive volume creates upwards movement in the PPS, where high negative volume does the opposite. This creates a trader’s opportunity; Generally, the most effective time to buy or sell is where the candlesticks (volume data) are thinning out. When you are ready to take an entry point or execute an exit point, waiting till the volatility (candlesticks) thin out is one method to give you best trade possible.
WSB FAVORITE EQUITIES: Of many equities, WSB favors the riskier ones - but avoiding penny stocks is a policy.
AMD - CEO Lisa Su, Next Gen Processors, chips, graphics. It’s the gamers gambit. Up roughly 1400% as of 2/7/2017 since WSB first mentioned it
NVDA - AMD’s sister? Mother? Daddy? Who knows. NVDA has been a sexy semiconductor leader. Is up 400% since gaining traction on WSB.
FNMA / pfds - Mnunchin, Trump, Big fat fannies. Get your self deep in the fannie. We all want it. WSB 10 bagger candidate for reforming the housing market. WSB holds a large cumulative position that can be seen below. Also a good read is the beginners guide to FNMA. Any post by u/NOVACPA is very often VERY informative on FMNA/pfds.

ARRY - A biotech champion that prevailed after a lot of failures and huge losses in the biotech sector. Dark times for WSB. Up ~300% since getting traction on the subreddit.
TWTR - WSB likes to buy put option contracts on her. Exemplary of a social media platform that is unable to monetize itself.
TSLA - Maybe not unanimously a favorite, but loved for it’s sexy volatility, Elon Musk, and ridiculously expensive options.
GILD - A Shkreli pump and dump? The greatest large cap pharma recovery of all time? Who knows. Martin took the time to make a post on this reddit and it is up $5 dollars since.
ETF'S
Welcome to the world of investing made easy. Exchange traded funds (etfs) are devices that can be traded like stocks, but often track the value of many companies by investing in their listed assets accordingly. Specifically, An ETF, or exchange traded fund, is a marketable security that tracks an index, a commodity, bonds, or a basket of assets like an index fund. Unlike mutual funds, an ETF trades like a common stock on a stock exchange. ETFs experience price changes throughout the day as they are bought and sold. ETFs typically have higher daily liquidity and lower fees than mutual fund shares, making them an attractive alternative for individual investors.
ETF’s come in beautiful and delicious varieties, often with a BEAR form and a BULL form of each; but the most delicious to WSB are the 3x etf’s. A 3x ETF is one in which the underlying movement of the ETF is leveraged 3:1. Meaning for every movement within the underlying index or stocks, the 3x ETF moves well.... 3x as much..
WSB FAVORITE AND USEFUL ETF’S:
JNUG - 3x Gold Miner Bull - A hit or miss, has extreme intraday movements and essentially tracks GDX (gold miner’s index). Jnug will usually move with a pretty strong correlation to gold, which is affected by the mentioning of rate hikes (negatively), movement of the US dollar (inversely), uncertainty (positively), and supply and demand.
NUGT - Jnug with a different price tag
JDST - The inverse 3x etf of JNUG - or the bear etf. It does almost exactly the opposite movements of JNUG by the tick. Moves for the same reasons, but obviously opposite directions.
DUST - Jdst with a different price tag.
UGAZ - Natural Gas 3x Bull ETF - essentially tracks the price value of the commodity Natural Gas, but more specifically the S&P GSCI Natural Gas Index ER. The index comprises futures contracts on a single commodity and is calculated according to the methodology of the S&P GSCI Index. Natural gas is most affected by Weather temperature conditions (use your brain), petroleum prices, and broader economic conditions.
DGAZ - Inverse of UGAZ
UWT - Crude Oil Bull 3x ETF - extreme intraday movements, closely follows the price of oil. More specifically, it tracks futures. UWT seeks to replicate, net of expenses, three times of the S&P GSCI® Crude Oil Index ER. The index tracks a hypothetical position in the nearest-to-expiration NYMEX light sweet crude oil futures contract, which is rolled each month into the futures contract expiring in the next month. The value of the index fluctuates with changes in the price of the relevant NYMEX light sweet crude oil futures contracts.
DWT - Inverse of UWT
FAS - Financial Bull, specifically FAS seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, of 300% of the performance of the Russell 1000 ® Financial Services Index. The fund creates long positions by investing at least 80% of its assets in the securities that comprise the Russell 1000 ® Financial Services Index and/or financial instruments that provide leveraged and unleveraged exposure to the index. Can be used when bullish on US financial services - so banks, lenders, etc.
FAZ - Inverse of FAS
UPRO - S&P500 Bull 3x ETF, essentially tracks the S&P500 and multiplies it’s returns by 3x.
BRZU - Tracks Brazil (in its most basic form). It creates long positions in the MSCI Brazil 25/50 Index.
LABU - Tracks the Biotech sector, or specifically 300% of the performance of the S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index ("index"). It should be noted that LABU has doubled since just before the election of Donald Trump.
LABD - Inverse of LABU
RUSL - roughly creates 300% of the performance of the MVIS Russia Index.
RUSS - Inverse of RUSL
SPY - Tracks the S&P500, but is not 3x.
OPTIONS:
Alright, so half you are going to understand this, and half of you are not. Pull up an options chain now on any stock (penny stocks and specific stocks do not have chains because of their market cap). Options are truly the ultimate way to achieve maximum risk/reward.
An option is a contract that gives the buyer the right to buy or sell 100 shares of a stock at a certain price, on a certain date. This concept makes options a commodity themselves.
KEY TERMS:
A CALL - is the right to buy. Buying calls is taking a bullish position in its most extreme form.
A PUT - is the right to sell.
The underlying - is the stock that the option is covering i.e. AAPL, GOOG, AMZN
Strike Price - the price at which a put or call option can be exercised.
ITM, In the money - In the money means that a call option's strike price is below the market price of the underlying asset or that the strike price of a put option is above the market price of the underlying asset. Being in the money does not mean you will profit, it just means the option is worth exercising.
OTM, Out of the money - a call option with a strike price that is higher than the market price of the underlying asset, or a put option with a strike price that is lower than the market price of the underlying asset.
ATM - At the money - Strike price at the same price as the underlying
Expiration - Expiries for options are every friday of every week usually, with exceptions such as every month, or every other day - depending on the underlying. SPY and SPX are great examples of very active option chains with expiries every other day. On the expiry date or any time before (with american options), an option can be, but doesn’t have to be exercised, meaning the holder of the option can use it to buy or sell shares of the underlying stock at the strike price. Most people on WSB do not exercise the contracts, but merely flip them for increases in value as the underlying moves.
For example, when AAPL was at 120 before its earnings report, Joe Shmoe Yolo buys 10 FEB 17th CALLS at strike 127 for .60 , each. Now .60 cents is really 60 dollars each, because the contract is multiplied by 100 (the right to 100 shares). In total, Joe Shmoe Yolo spends $600 dollars + commision on this trade. The next day, AAPL leaps to 130 upon great news. These same option contracts are now worth 3.50 each. $350 dollars per contract, times ten contracts is $3500 dollars. Joe Shmoe Yolo just turned $600 into $3500 dollars. MAGIC. Spoiler alert: Joe Shmoe Yolo was me.
That same Joe Shmoe later buys FEB 17th XOM calls at 90, hoping for similar results. However, XOM ends up never reaching anywhere close to the strike price, and the options expire worthless. Get it?
Now what determines the pricing of options?
OPTION PRICING:
Below is sourced from investopedia
Intrinsic Value: The intrinsic value is the actual value of a company or an asset based on an underlying perception of its true value including all aspects of the business, in terms of both tangible and intangible factors. This value may or may not be the same as the current market value. Additionally, intrinsic value is primarily used in options pricing to indicate the amount an option is in the money.
Time Value: Time Value = Option Price - Intrinsic Value. The more time an option has until it expires, the greater the chance it will end up in the money. The time component of an option decays exponentially. The actual derivation of the time value of an option is a fairly complex equation. As a general rule, an option will lose one-third of its value during the first half of its life and two-thirds during the second half of its life. This is an important concept for securities investors because the closer you get to expiration, the more of a move in the underlying security is needed to impact the price of the option. Time value is basically the risk premium that the option seller requires to provide the option buyer the right to buy/sell the stock up to the date the option expires. It is like an insurance premium of the option; the higher the risk, the higher the cost to buy the option. Makes sense, right?
Time value is determined by the expiration date. An expiration date in derivatives is the last day that an options contract is valid. When investors buy options, the contracts gives them the right but not the obligation, to buy or sell the assets at a predetermined price, called a strike price, within a given time period, which is on or before the expiration date. If an investor chooses not to exercise that right, the option expires and becomes worthless, and the investor loses the money paid to buy it.
Volatility:
In an options pricing, you see IV. This stands for implied volatility. The higher that is, the higher the options will be priced Volatility is the extent to which the return of the underlying asset will fluctuate between now and the option's expiration. Volatility, as expressed as a percentage coefficient within option-pricing formulas, arises from daily trading activities. How volatility is measured will affect the value of the coefficient used.
Decaying Nature of Options:
Decay refers to derivative trading (i.e. options). When you sell or buy a call/put (using those two for simplicity purposes) you don't get an infinite time frame to make your dreams come true. Time is your enemy; the further out the expiration date, the less time decay there is. Time decay really hits the worst the week of expiration. Sound confusing? Say you're buying options of the stock WSB (I hope you're seeing what I did there) - and the option costs $1, the expiration is this Friday. Say today is Monday. You buy a call expecting WSB to take you to the moon and beyond. Each day the stock doesn't move closer to your strike price or remains stagnant/drops, you lose value on your option + the time decay. Meaning if it finishes closer to your strike price, your option could be worthless because of that time decay. Questions? Ask away.
A great example of these factors in action is TSLA.
TSLA’s options are among the most expensive for companies in its price range, why?
An in the money TSLA call expiring this week is worth around $1100 per contract. Insanely expensive. But for a reason. TSLA has extreme intraday movements and calls have an implied volatility of 40.92%. Which is fairly high. In addition to that, it holds high intrinsic value / price per share, and a week of time value.
-Futures 101 - The Ultimate YOLO Guide (thanks to u/IncendiaryGames)
Okay, a lot of you have been YOLOing on faggot delights on SPY options. How would you like to trade something with the same or more leverage, 1.0 delta, and no time premium costs? Have you considered futures? What are futures? Unlike options, futures is a contract where both the buyer and seller is obligated to perform the transaction by the expiration. Conversely, in options, only the seller is obligated to perform. That means you can lose more than your investment. Originally they were used by farmers to sell future crops early and guarantee some amount of sales. Since then futures have expanded not just to commodities but currency and equity indices like the S&P 500. Why the heck would I want to trade futures? Here are the advantages: Leverage $5k is the margin requirement for most contracts. For example with the E-mini S&P 500 with 5k you're trading $120k worth of stuff. 1 contract = 500 spy shares. Some brokers offer intraday daytrading margin rates too - TD Ameritrade is 25% of the overnight margin rate($1,250.) Some brokers go as low as $500 an /ES future. SPAN Margin If 24x overnight leverage and 240x day trade leverage didn't give you a hard on there is also SPAN margin, which is like portfolio margin on steroids. The beauty of SPAN margin is you don't need a $125k+ account to be eligible. SPAN will greatly reduce your margin requirements if you hold uncorrelated or inversely correlated positions (up to an 80% discount, here is a list of groups that give discounts) and if you hedge with options. Hedge with the right option or asset and now you have up to 500x day trading margin. 23/7 and day trading Ever get in and out of an equity only to have your broker yell at you to stop doing that or deposit $25k? There is no pattern day trading restrictions on futures. Feel free to day trade and blow up your account as often as you want! You can also trade 23 hours a day. Get trading on how the S&P 500 index will react to news from China right away. Taxes No matter how long or how short you hold you always get taxed under the 60/40 rule. 60% of your profit from futures will be taxed as a long term gain and 40% will be taxed as short term gain. No wash sales. Trade your hearts out. Just remember holding past Dec 31st will treat you as if you closed all your positions that day and you'll be taxed on unrealized gains. Long/Short No need to pay interest or borrow shares as being short a future contract is being a writer, just like an options writer. Options Of course there are options. What fun would it be without options? Unlike stock options each contract gives different number of future contracts. Research what you're trading.
Ok. I'm convinced. I want to strat trading futures! What are some good strategies?
YOLO Strategies
Swing trading Trying to guess/predict/ride sudden market momentum. A low volume average day in the S&P 500 (/ES) for one contract can swing +- $500. Get it right and you can see a huge appreciation of value. /ES is usually highly liquid during regular hours with average volume of 1 million trades and usually bid-ask spreads of one tick. One approach is to buy or short in your direction and put in a stop loss to an amount you're comfortable to lose (say $200.) Since it's so liquid you'll likely be filled at or near your stop loss during the day if your trade goes against you. If you can guess the direction 50% of the time and have trades like this: trade 1 - gain $800 trade 2 - lose $200 Then you may profit over the time period. If you have a 50% chance of being wrong and losing $200 or 50% chance of being right and gaining $800 then over time you'll gain more than you lose. Also, since the present value of your futures contract is included in your margin calculation then if it goes strongly in your favor your position can quickly grow to cover its own margin and you can let it ride for a while. You'll want to be sure you enter a combo buy/short order along with a stop loss order simultaneously, like this for Thinkorswim. Futures can move suddenly and a sudden movement can make you lose a ton of money. Exploiting outdated SPAN margin guidelines There are several out of date correlations between popular futures like oil and say things like wheat that SPAN gives you margin credits on. Take whatever position you want in oil (/cl) then take the opposite in something that doesn't move much day to day with less volatility such as /w (wheat)) and your /cl and /w positions will get a 75% credit, giving you 50% more buying power on crude oil. (2 positions * .25 = 0.5). Trade your heart out on the more volatile future then when you're done close your safer future pair. SPAN is constantly changing but such a complex system definitely has its exploits. Automated/algorithmic trading For you programmer geeks out there it's really hard to algorithmic trade on small accounts due to pattern day trading rules and economies of scale with broker fees. Futures is probably the best way to get your feet wet. Join us on /algotrading if you want to explore more!
Boring safer strategies
I'm including these for completeness but these belong on /investing. Scalping With high frequency trading scalping is less guaranteed. Basically scalping is using tiny momentum as usually there are small micro patterns in futures buying and selling activity where it will rise or fall a couple of ticks. Since the notional value of each tick is $12.5 it's profitable for retail investors and small accounts to act as a market maker after fees at the smallest bid-ask spread possible. Spreads Just like you can trade spreads in options, you can trade calendar spreads in futures. Futures have contracts with different expiration dates and the prices are different for each month of expiration based on the market's expectations. You can go long or short the near month expiration and the opposite for the far month. This will hedge out any sudden market moves as that would likely affect both months. Bull markets in general tend to increase the price of the near month faster than the far month. Basically with a spread trade you're making a long term bet on bull or bear for the underlying future. Pairs trading You can go long in one future say the dow jones (/ym) and short the S&P 500 index and profit off the relative growth. This is a hedged trade as any market ups or downs will likely affect both positions with the same % value. For the past 180 days /ym - /es has been really profitable. Even if you don't do a full perfect pairs trade it is still a great option to reduce the leverage too on whatever index future you're trading so you can stay in longer or overnight. Interest rate and optimal leverage plays Since the $5k investment is equal to $120k of the S&P 500 index currently then you'll likely beat out the market by buying one future contract and putting $115k in safe treasuries or bonds or uncorrelated assets. Some people choose to leverage their stock portfolio and you can get the exact leverage ratio of liquid investments to future ratios. In probability theory the max leverage you can gain is determined by the Kelly Criterion which modeling shows indicates the S&P 500 index to be leveraged to 1.40x. Yes, you could do the same with options but even on SPY deep in the money call leaps are illiquid and have a time premium. Even today they are so deep ITM that the options you would need to use have 0 open interest and a bid-ask spread of $5 per share (so $500 per contract.) You'd need ~5 contracts per 120k so you're already eating $2.5k/$120k - 2% interest rate a year for that leverage. SPX isn't better, it's bid ask is 22 so you'd be eating $2.2k/$120k - 1.83% interest rate. It's doubtful you won't get much past the ask as its only market makers providing liquidity and guess what the market maker will do if you buy/sell the option? They will hedge with the underlying futures until their minimum profit is the risk free interest rate. Hedging Going long and short in various non correlated or negatively correlated assets to seek out a high sharpe ratio and have a higher risk free return that is market neutral. Basic hedge fund stuff. The variety and price efficiency of futures makes things pretty attractive in this area.
SUBCULTURE
Wallstreetbets is a community that has become infamous for the most wild west, moon or cardboard box trades on the planet earth. WSB is a place where you can take out thousand dollar loans, refinance your homes, cash advance all of your credit cards only to put it all on JNUG, and we will still love you. Your mother won't. Your father will never understand your spectrum of autism, but we will always love you. It is a uniquely beautiful community focused on praising its biggest losers as much as its biggest winners. To begin on the subculture, we should define some key moments in the sub's history.
HISTORY: (As made by u/digadiga) + my additions
2012: Jartek [+1] creates /wallstreetbets, and word slowly starts to ooze out. 2013: americanpegasus discovers pennies. AP has seen the light, and is a penny stock evangelist. Jartek & AP have an epic options vs pennies battle - they both lose a couple of hundred bucks, but we are entertained, and WSB is officially born. AP blows up his retirement, swears off pennies and moves onto bitcoins. 2014: fscomeau [+3] discovers options. He repeatedly bets five figures on AAPL calls before earnings. FS claims a supernatural clairvoyance of AAPL. FS then posts about his chest pains and ER visits. He finally suffers an epic loss. Is he dead? Is he alive? Is he is mother? Is he banned? Who cares? 2015: Photos from the 3rd annual meetup are posted. Where a bunch of dudes hang out on the romantic beaches of Guerrero Mexico. In a completely unrelated event, the wsb banner is changed to thousands of ejaculating dicks. Modpocalypse occurs. Hundreds of random users are added as moderators for a few months. None of the new mods can change the CSS. The constant whining about how "wsb isn't what it used to be" continues. Someone attempts to show how selling covered calls is idiot proof, but gets lazy, bets all six figures on Apple, and suffers significant losses. Robinhood gets popular. Should you buy one share of AMZN or one share of GOOGL? Who gives a fuck. 2016: Everyone starts saying "go fuck yourself." Except me. Because I am what I am. And if you don't like it, you can all go fuck yourselves. u/World_Chaos performs one of the more impressive yolo's of the sub, starting with 900 dollars, and turning it into 55k. https://www.reddit.com/wallstreetbets/comments/414blh/yofuckinglo_900_to_55k_in_12_days/?ref=share&ref_source=link 2017: u/fscomeau preforms what he calls "The Final Yolo", a 300k trade against AAPL before earnings (that I, u/thor303456 inversed), supposedly supposed to net fscomeau 2.5 million or so, in which he will finally stop trading. FSC is featured on several market related articles and newspapers, showing up on yahoo, etc. Later we find proof during his livestream of AAPL earnings that he was paper trading. Even later, FSC writes a near 200 page book called "Wolfie Has Fallen" describing how he trolled the entire internet, some following him into that AAPL trade. Martin Shkreli visits the sub and proclaims that GILD pharma is worth over $100 a share and is deeply undervalued.
KEY FIGURES:
Donald J Trump - He is the Marmalade Manchurian, the Tangerine Tycoon, and our spray tan Stalin. Unbelievable night of election. WSB demographics show a primarily capitalist and right wing (or at least joking to be so) point of view, and thus we are generally pro trump. In actuality though, WSB is focused on pro-market, which Trump happens to be.
u/Jartek - Founder of the sub, original yoloer. Believe he has retired from reddit for the most part. Mostly inactive.
u/Fscomeau - The Canadian as some call him, and perhaps one of the most profound internet trolls of 2016-2017. A French-Canadian trader who deals with mostly options. The man has been called "The Great Inverse", and for a good reason. Nearly all of the trades or statements he made on WSB were completely wrong or mostly wrong. Truly the strongest technical indicator.
Martin Shkreli - An idol to many WSBers, Martin stands as the master of the biotech sector. A very debated character for very stupid reasons. Martin regularly tweets about the stock market, occasionally does a youtube channel, and livestreams fairly regularly.
u/theycallme1 - Educated trader, and mod of WSB. Roasts people often and roasts them good. Ask him the questions that aren't stupid. One of the most active mods.
u/world_chaos - some fucking college student with some real net worth. Sits on 100k or so (needs verification), and was an inspiring yoloer to all, with his 900 to 55k yolo with options.
Lingo, Terminology, and Nomenclature:
The Faggots Delights - Truly the most suicidal, yet clearest shot to the moon. This term is usually used to define either weekly, or daily option plays on the SPY/SPX. Some users trade them very profitably, such as u/MRPguy and many in the past.
Cuck - Truly the worst thing you could be. A cuck is a man who likes watching his wife/girlfriend fuck other guys. Weak, spineless, and a term often throw around here.
The YOLO - You only live once. This is something that is, and should be realized as undeniably true. Why are you sitting on a 5k emergency fund that is making you less interest in a year than what I just made in 10 minutes? Why haven't you used all of the credit on your 5 credit cards or used your testicles as collateral for a loan yet? YOLO or YOLOING is as much a psychological decision to embrace absurdism, and win with everything you have while risking it all. Yolo is what it means to be a WSB trader.
Bagholding or a Bagholder - When you're stuck with the most ass trade of your life, because you know it'll go back up. A bagholder is the 59 year old guy at the grocery store who won't quit his Job because he knows he only has to wait another year until he gets a return on his investment (of his life). Anyone holding SUNEQ is the definition of a bagholder.
Autists - Something we embrace, something we call each other, something we all are. Autism isn't used in an offensive way as much as it is a generally accepted term that defines us. The best traders have autism because of their distance from emotion. I bet you never made it to this part of the reading because you're such a damn autist.
Tendies - Tendies are what you get after you make a small amount of money. "I SOLD AMD TODAY FOR A $13 DOLLAR PROFIT, GOING TO MCD's TO GET MY TENDIES". Tendie money is usually shameful and insignificant, but at least it got you tendies. Chicken tenders at McDonalds are the least expensive for the most cholesterol.
I know some of the writing was half ass, full of errors, or otherwise not the best explanation. But I believe this will serve its purpose, and maybe help to promote new ideas from moderately educated traders. WSB has very strong traders, and the most uniquely risky trading styles on the planet. Hopefully this can serve to better the overall community.
You guys are all faggots, upvote this so we can get the noobs to stop trying to bite on our cocks.
Also I'd really appreciate input on anything to add to this overall. It took my over 3 hours to write up, so I eventually grew tired and probably have missing spots.
Enjoy your time here at WSB.
EDIT: Added a shit ton of stuff, fixed errors. THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR INPUT, ACTUALLY MAKING WSB GREAT AGAIN
MODS: Can we make this editable by others mods or something? My fingers aren't enough. Seems like this could serve as a good "official" thing. Paging u/theycallme1 u/CHAINSAW_VASECTOMY etc

morning briefing

Shares of Facebook (NASDAQ:FB), Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) and Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) were hit after the close on Tuesday, all falling over 1%, as the DOJ followed Attorney General William Barr's interest in launching a broad antitrust investigation into Big Tech. Much of the rally on U.S. indices has been fueled by the FAANG stocks and a prolonged legal affair - as well as Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) growth worries - could erode some of that sentiment. Nasdaq futures are off by 0.7% on the news, ahead of today's quarterly report from Facebook, and Q2 results from Amazon and Alphabet on Thursday.
Brexit team
Boris Johnson will formally take office this afternoon, unveiling the names of his Cabinet and the team he has tasked with delivering Brexit. Investors are particularly interested to see who will be handed the top jobs such as chancellor of the exchequer, foreign secretary and Brexit minister. Johnson has pledged to negotiate a new Brexit agreemnt with the EU before Oct. 31, but if the bloc refuses, he has promised to leave without a deal on Halloween. IMF trims growth projection
The International Monetary Fund cut its global growth outlook yesterday to 3.2% in 2019 and 3.5% in 2020, both down 0.1 percentage points from its April projections. "Dynamism in the global economy is being weighed down by prolonged policy uncertainty as trade tensions remain heightened despite the recent U.S.-China trade truce, technology tensions have erupted threatening global technology supply chains, and the prospects of a no-deal Brexit have increased," the IMF said in a statement. Restructuring costs bite
Deutsche Bank (NYSE:DB) is off 3.5% premarket after reporting a €3.15B loss in the second quarter, due to a large restructuring charge that wiped out what would have been a modest profit. "This decline is mainly due to our decision to exit substantially all of our equities sales and trading business," the bank said in a statement. Deutsche's shares have fallen more than 30% in the last 12 months, hit by a host of scandals relating to historical anti-money laundering failures. Car cuts
A big wave of layoffs is coming to Nissan Motor (OTCPK:NSANY) as the automaker plans 10,000 job cuts globally as part of efforts to turn around its business, Kyodo News reports. The number, which represents around 10% of its global workforce, is much larger than an earlier 4,800 estimate. The announcement will be revealed along with Nissan's Q2 results tomorrow and comes as the automaker struggles to restructure its management team following the arrest of former Chairman Carlos Ghosn.
More auto news
Due to legal risks for diesel-related issues and the cost of replacing Takata (OTCPK:TKTDQ) airbags, Germany's Daimler (OTCPK:DDAIF) said it would intensify cost cuts after reporting a €1.56B loss before interest and taxes in the second quarter. French peer PSA Group (OTCPK:PEUGF) still managed to turn a profit in that period despite a weaker outlook for car sales. Recurring operating income at the maker of Peugeot and Citroen cars rose 10.6% to €3.34B, lifting its operating margin to a new record of 8.7% in January-June. F-35 parts sourcing
Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) is working to establish alternate supply sources for F-35 parts in the U.S. after the Pentagon decided last week to remove Turkey from the fighter jet program. "We have a timeline that we're working towards... it's out through March of 2020 that we think it will all be resolved," CEO Marillyn Hewson said on a conference call. Turkey previously said it planned to buy a total of 100 aircraft over the years, but following President Trump's sanctions, Ankara will not be able to buy the jets.
KKR devours Arnott's
Just weeks after offloading its Kelsen snacks line to Nutella maker Ferrero, Campbell Soup (NYSE:CPB) is selling its Australian snacks unit Arnott's to KKR (NYSE:KKR), in a deal local media reported was worth $2.2B. Food M&A in Australia is getting hot. Last Friday, Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE:BUD) agreed to divest its Australian operations - with best-selling labels like VB and Carlton Draught - to Japan's Asahi (OTCPK:ASBRF) for $11B. CPB +1.3% premarket.
Sunday and drone delivery
United Parcel Service (NYSE:UPS) will start delivering packages on Sundays starting in January, following FedEx's (NYSE:FDX) announced move to seven-day delivery as the two work to meet the demands of online shopping. UPS also announced a new drone delivery subsidiary called UPS Flight Forward and said it has applied for FAA certifications needed to expand the business. Those would allow drone flights beyond an operator's visual line of sight, at night and without limit to the number of drones or operators in command.
